“The search for meaning is only valid if you’re willing to take action with what you find.”
- Paul Rosolie
Paul’s purpose in life is to save the Amazon, and he committed himself to this mission at 18. He moved to the Amazon, lives amongst the indigenous people, and has been helping protect the Amazon from loggers, narco trafficking, and globalization. I’ll save the amazing stories for the podcasts because in addition to being a true conservationist, he is an amazing storyteller. When Paul shared his interpretation of a quote he had heard, I couldn’t help but think about how important it is for all of us to be willing to take action with what we find as we discover our Authentic Life. As we connect with our Authentic Self and begin to identify who we were created to be, what we are supposed to be doing, and how we move closer to that version of our Self, it’s very likely that uncomfortable decisions will need to be made. You may not need to move to the Amazon like Paul, but you might need to change habits. The thought of discovering your Authentic Self and beginning to live your Authentic Life is alluring. However, if you don’t embrace what you discover about your Self and aren’t willing to make changes to become it, then the work you have done is almost meaningless–I say almost because maybe you make some subtle changes based on what you learn, which is better than nothing. However, if you are serious about living your Authentic Life, you have to embrace Paul’s quote and be willing to take the action necessary to bring your Authentic Life to reality. See you tomorrow and keep pursuing, JC |
I'm on a mission to help more people find and live their authentic life. Check out my Daily Notes where I write a short note each day about the connection of spirit, mind, body and money on the Pursuit of your authentic life.
Yesterday, I received a prototype of a t-shirt I want to make for the PRST brand, which sparked a cool back-and-forth with a friend on LinkedIn. The shirt, still in development mode since I don’t like the style of t-shirt it was printed on, was inspired by a shirt from the brand 247. 247 is the athletic-wear division of the Represent brand, and in many of the vlogs on the Represent and its co-founder George Heaton’s YouTube channels, you will see a black t-shirt with small holes and tears...
“The truth really can make us free once we realize that much of what we believe, especially about ourselves, is not necessarily the truth. Struggle to become aware of what you believe about yourself, others, and the world around you. Ask yourself, “Is this really true, or could it be an illusion or life?” If your beliefs are limiting your options in life by keeping you in bondage, they probably do not represent the truth. When you know the truth about who you really are, you may indeed be...
For as long as I can remember, I’ve always been aware of my thoughts and reluctant to allow them to stay negative for long. I’m convinced that my ability to redirect my energy has kept minor inconveniences from expanding into something much bigger and more painful. Take, for example, a backed-up toilet in our basement this weekend. Sunday afternoon, I went downstairs to get a workout in, stopped in the bathroom for some strange reason (I didn’t need to use the bathroom), and noticed that the...
