Once you’ve found your Authentic Self…stop hedging. Once you’ve found how to bring your unique gifts and talents to the world…stop hedging. Once you’ve gotten clear on your Authentic Life…stop hedging. Once you know, don’t downplay it…stop hedging. I was talking with a friend today about our businesses, and I shared with him how the momentum for my work at Santiago was picking up. He commented that I had been at it for a while now, which made me reflect. I have been in the business of the Authentic Life for a few years now; it started slowly as I was figuring it all out, and then I entered a phase of hedging. The hedging phase consisted of talking about the Authentic Life, even creating a relationship, LifeDesign+, which would later become AlignedLife+, and passively trying to grow my business in the new direction I was excited about. Looking back, I can now see how hedging and not fully owning the new version of my Self and the way I want to help people in the future kept momentum from building. Hedging not only confused the public, but it also confused the Universe. I was doing most of what I needed to manifest the future I wanted, but the hedging prevented the manifestation from beginning. I’m sure fear played a big part in my hedging. Would my current clients feel like I was trying to leave them behind? (I wasn’t, and still am not.) Would the world accept a financial advisor talking about spirit, mind, and body? Would my peers judge me for sharing my meditation and yoga practices? Would mentors lose respect for me since I wasn’t traveling the path I once was? I can honestly say I wasn’t consciously thinking these things, but as I put my Self in the place of my younger Self, I’m sure these stories were keeping me from fully owning the version of my Self and business I wanted to create. So I hedged. In the last year, or maybe even just the last six months, I’ve made some changes internally and externally to remove the hedges. And there are more to come. Energetically, the hedges keep you from operating from the frequency of the version of your Self you are meant to be. The hedges also keep you from operating on the frequency of the people who will want to be around you or work with you if that’s part of the plan. I think everyone goes through a hedging period to protect their Selves…or maybe their ego. It’s a part of the process. But the sooner you realize you are hedging and find the confidence to remove the hedges, the sooner you’ll be where you are supposed to and want to be. How do I know? I’ve witnessed it with clients. And I’m experiencing it right now. Stop hedging. See you tomorrow and keep pursuing, JC |

A new episode of AlignedLife dropped today, and it's a special one... What if you were given the choice to stay or go — and you chose to stay? In this conversation, I sit down with my friend Aaron Schaben, and we start exactly where his story begins: the moment he left his body during a near-death experience at the 2019 Boston Marathon. With an internal body temperature of 108°, Aaron found himself above his own body — not in fear, but in complete peace — and was given a choice most of us...

I’ve been thinking about the present lately—trying to give my Self the opportunity to spend more time in the present moment. I once heard that the present moment is the only real moment, and that the past and future are merely stories. The past is a story about what we think happened through our perspective. The future is a story about what we want to see happen. Neither is true. Yet, so many people allow the stories of the past and the future to rob them of experiencing the present moment. I...
