Depending on what social media platforms you follow me on, you might not know that I have hosted three conversations at our house with Roman and Leo’s friends. I wrote about how the series of talks came to be over in the Omens (my version of the blogs we grew up with), so I’ll save that explanation and get right to the first three talks. While the audience for these is teenage athletes, the reality is the message applies to everyone. I’ve told them I’m pulling them in to help them with their athletic goals now, but really hoping to help them for when their playing days are over. Mindset, Mindfulness, and Meditation will serve them well in all aspects of life, as will Breathwork and Visualization, which will round out the series. This series has already exceeded my expectations in terms of attendance and, most importantly, the boys' engagement. They are participating, taking notes, and even sharing with their parents!! I hope you enjoy these, and please feel free to share these with the young athletes in your life—there is no catch or pitch coming from these conversations. I’m not trying to coach teenage athletes or create a new business. This is just one way I can give back by sharing what I’ve learned, experienced, and observed. I am optimistic that some of the attendees (and viewers/listeners) will use this information and change the path of their lives. I'm on a mission to help more people find and live their authentic life. Check out my Daily Notes where I write a short note each day about the connection of spirit, mind, body and money on the Pursuit of your authentic life.
A friend of mine texted me today and shared that just a few weeks before he hit a milestone birthday, he reached a goal he set years ago. “Before I turn X, I want to achieve Y.” My initial response was excitement for him. My second response was, "I wonder what would have happened if he had set a bigger goal?” I don’t think it is a coincidence that he hit the exact goal in the exact timeline that he set. Now, he didn’t need to reach a bigger goal—he’s exactly where he is supposed to be and in...
“You can fail at what you don't want, so you might as well take a chance on doing what you love.” -Jim Carrey We find comfort in failing within a system we’ve been told will take care of us. Yet, we fear failing outside the system, pursuing what is calling us. Many people have discovered that pursuing their Authentic Life ends up being more stable and “safe” than the path we’ve been told will always take care of us. Don’t focus on what failure in either option looks like; think about what...
This morning my alarm went off, and I turned it off. And I stayed in bed and went back to sleep; multiple times, I woke up and thought about what I “should” be doing. I could have been writing.I could have been working out.I could have been meditating. Podcast clips from the hustle crowd made me feel like I was wasting precious time. But it was the last Sunday of summer break. Everyone else was sleeping. It was cloudy and possibly raining. Staying in bed a little longer wasn’t going to hurt...
