invest in your Self

“Investing in yourself is the best investment you can make.”
-Warren Buffett

When was the last time you invested in your Self?

Not all investments have to be costly, although you shouldn’t shy away from investing significant amounts of money into your evolution throughout your life. Allocating dollars toward your personal growth can be scary and, maybe even on paper, a less-than-ideal thing to do. But, I’ve experienced, witnessed, and have heard countless examples of money taking care of itself when allocated in a way aligned with your authentic life–it’s almost like the Universe will make sure you can make that investment in your Self, even if you’re not sure how you’ll make it work, and continue to grow and evolve with your authentic life.

You can also invest in your Self with your time, which isn’t cheap, but we seem to view it from a different perspective and apply a different value to it than dollars.

Make time to go for a walk.

Carve out time for daily meditation or prayer.

Allow your Self to just be without having to be on the go.

You can also invest in your Self with energy, which isn’t cheap, but we seem to view it from a different perspective and apply a different value to it than dollars.

Pushing your Self through your favorite choice of workouts.

Put more energy into the things you enjoy as you do the things you waste time on.

Identify how you can serve others–sometimes, service isn’t initially reciprocated with an equal exchange of value, but over time, your energy put into service is returned in a much greater amount.

Yes, an investment in the stock market, real estate, or even crypto might end up being a good investment on paper—and you should continue investing in traditional assets.

But a good investment in your Self will not only outperform stocks, real estate, and crypto over your lifetime, it’ll improve your life in ways that aren’t quantifiable with dollars and cents.

Starting my firm was an investment in my Self.

Hiring Phil Wood as my coach last year was an investment in my Self.

Yoga, weight training, meditation, and creating are all investments in my Self.

These have all been investments I’ve made in just the last ten years, and they have all already outperformed anything else I could have put my money, time, or energy into.

Don’t neglect investing in your most valuable and precious asset: your Self.

See you tomorrow and keep pursuing,

JC

“It takes a certain kind of madness to go all in. Not talent. Not luck. Madness. Because most people need a safety net. A backup plan. A way out. But the ones who actually make something of themselves? They burn the boats. Not because it’s smart, but because they see what they’re capable of. Going all in doesn’t make sense. It’s not logical. It’s not safe. It’s a full-body yes in a world that worships hesitation. But 80% in only gets you 20% back, whilst 100% in gets you 1000% back. Because...

On Dr. David Hawkins’ Map of Consciousness, fear is towards the bottom of the chart. It is described as an emotional state of anxiety and a frightened view of life. This hardly sounds like a state of being from which you would want to operate, but many of us cannot escape fear in our lives. Even those of us who tend to tilt toward the higher levels of consciousness still fall victim to operating from a place of fear in some aspects of our lives. Sometimes fear can be reasonable or even...
