exploration and experimentation

For about 9 months, Silas was into WWE. Like obsessed.

Toys were bought. Mornings were spent watching old matches on YouTube. Events were attended. Research on wrestlers was done. Wrestling matches were held in the pool and basement. WWE 2k26 was played.

I thought I had a lifelong WWE fan on my hands.

And then I noticed a change.

The toys sat. Mornings were now being spent watching old NBA and Olympic basketball games on YouTube. Questions about athletes were now about NBA players. A basketball was always close by. 1-on-1 games were played in the basement and H-O-R-S-E outside. NBA 2k26 was purchased.

I now have (maybe) a lifelong basketball fan on my hands.

This isn’t the first time Silas has gotten into something, only to move on to another after a while—both Roman and Leo did this as well.

And I love it.

Silas is exploring his interests. When he feels called to something, he goes all-in, fully immersing his Self into it.

We should all be doing this. There is a reason we are called to new things, and that reason will never be known until we allow our Self to explore and experience.

Maybe we find something that changes our lives.

Or maybe we spend some time learning what it is like to be a different version of our Self only to confirm that version is not the one we’re supposed to be.

Exploration and experimentation are healthy.

They also make life more fun and exciting.

So take notes from Silas and dive into that new thing that has your interest, but you haven’t allocated any time to.

See you tomorrow and keep pursuing,

JC

Complexity sells. There is no shortage of complex systems to help you achieve any goal you may have. It seems the more complex, the more sophisticated, the more expensive. I’m not convinced the results are any better than a simple approach based on fundamentals we all know exist. Want to change your body composition? Probably just need to track what you’re eating, lift weights, walk more, and sleep better. Want to improve your financial picture? Probably need to review cash flow, identify...

Time. Energy. Money. These are three currencies in life. Money is the most obvious. Time and energy might be more valuable and even more scarce. Are you aware of how you’re spending your time and energy? Is it aligned with your Authentic Life? See you tomorrow and keep pursuing, JC

Ang had to share Mother's Day with Silas, as it was his First Communion today--just as you would expect from a great mom, she didn't mind one bit.
