don't delay your dreams

If you have dreams—if you’ve discovered your Authentic Life—don’t delay taking action to move towards them.

I’m not saying you have to drop everything and jump fully into it, but you should start moving towards the life you are being called to.

Don’t delay because it could take some time to manifest your Authentic Life. Remember, most overnight successes took ten years to build.

Don’t delay because you don’t know when you’ll run out of time. No one knows when their last day will be, and you might delay because you think you have more time than you really do.

Don’t delay because you might build a comfortable life. And that comfortable life might be too hard to leave behind. Or maybe you will find your Self with responsibilities that keep your Authentic Life just out of your reach.

This morning Leo and I headed up to Milwaukee for the weekend for some futbol, and we listened to the audiobook of The Alchemist. Find a copy and look for the part about the baker for a great example of how delaying can keep you from living your Authentic Life.

See you tomorrow and keep pursuing,

I’m going to see it again Monday evening with a couple of friends, and I’m looking forward to seeing what I might have missed the first time around. Instagram must have picked up on me seeing the movie because it started feeding me tons of Odyssey content. One of the posts really...

Not too long, I wrote about your Authentic Life requiring you to be irrational. Another word that has come up in the last few weeks, and that I keep thinking about, is delusion. I consider irrational and delusional to be synonyms, but I really think delusional is one more step further away from “normal” than irrational. I also think delusion requires a level of conviction and belief that doesn’t show up in irrational. Maybe belief is what takes something from irrational to delusional. I’ve...

"Maybe it's time to count NOT how many steps we took or how many calories we consumed, but how many sunsets we experienced with our spouse, how many times we felt goosebumps during a deep conversation with our best friend, or how many times we smiled at a stranger?" -Chip Conley What would you add to the list Chip started?
