When was the last time you celebrated a “win”? Even something as little as waking up each morning a little earlier? It’s easy to be so focused on your goals, where you’re heading, and even trying to find the meaning in why things are unfolding in the way they are, that you miss celebrating the wins when they come. Celebrating your wins doesn’t have to be a major event—you don’t need to take to social media (but you can) or treat your Self to a nice little reward (but you can). It can be as simple as sitting back, reflecting on what it took to achieve the win, and appreciating the moment and moments that led up to it. In that moment of reflection, if you can write down how you are feeling and anything else that comes up at that time, you’ll have a nice collection of wins to revisit in the future. I also think the wins may become easier to identify the more you are aware of them, appreciate them, and honor them when they occur. We naturally anchor our Selves to life’s struggles and “losses”, so it may take a little extra effort to sit in the wins and appreciate them, but it is important to do and you deserve to enjoy those moments. “If you think about it, it’s precisely because people are different from others that they’re able to create their own independent selves. Take me as an example. It’s precisely my ability to detect some aspects of a scene that other people can’t, to feel differently than others and choose words that differ from theirs, that’s allowed me to write stories that are mine alone. And because of this we have the extraordinary situation in which quite a few people read what I’ve written. So the fact...
"Ordinary people believe only in the possible. Extraordinary people visualize not what is possible or probable, but rather what is impossible. And by visualizing the impossible, they begin to see it as possible." - Cherie Carter-Scott Thinking that you want something, writing it down, and even speaking it are all great steps towards bringing it into existence. But, thinking, writing, and speaking can all be done without actually believing–”talk is cheap”. Visualizing what you want is what...
