your billion-dollar idea

Joe Hudson tells the story of his daughter sharing that she found her billion-dollar idea. He asked if she meant a business she could build to be worth a billion dollars, and she replied no; it is a business she wouldn’t sell for a billion dollars.

What a flip of perspective.

Most people are focused on building something that can be turned into a financial windfall, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

But what if building something that gave you purpose, was something you wouldn’t want to stop doing, and could provide what you needed was possible?

Many entrepreneurs build a business, have a massive exit, and within a short time find themselves unhappy, despite their fortunes. This just highlights that money alone usually isn’t the best goal.

Finding your billion-dollar business—the one you wouldn’t sell for a billion dollars—will lead to a more fulfilling and purposeful life, which is what our experience on earth is all about. And, there is a great chance that you’ll have the financial success you need to go along with it.

See you tomorrow and keep pursuing,

The real work of the artist is a way of being in the world.” -Rick Rubin You are an artist. Your greatest masterpiece is your life.
