“What does violently aligned look like for you?” A good friend of mine asked me this earlier this week in reference to a Daily Note from last month, "violently aligned." I first reminded him that there isn’t a “right” way to find personal alignment—what works for me won’t work for him or anyone else, but what I do might help give some direction on where to start. I believe “violently aligned” is found in the alignment of spirit, mind, body, and money, and as I wrote in the earlier Note, the “violently” just means that you are extremely or absolutely aligned—the activities that bring you alignment are non-negotiable and you do not compromise them. At a high level, violently aligned for me includes:
I plan to do a longer series on each of these, how they fit into my day, and why they are so important for me—I’m not sure how this will manifest, as it could be some videos, a podcast, or a longer form piece in the Omens on my website, but I will share more outside of the Daily Notes. In full transparency, I am not violently aligned yet—I’m just aligned. The difference is that when I am violently aligned, I will do each of these activities daily without exception. Right now, I am usually 50-75% on these activities each day —enough to keep my alignment, but not 100%. If I notice my alignment slipping, I’ll prioritize getting back to 100% to realign my Self. I can’t wait to see how things are when I’m violently aligned because living aligned is already pretty amazing. hat are the activities that help you connect you spirit, mind, body, and money? What are the activities that make you feel your best—that when you do them you almost feel superhuman for the rest of the day? Start noticing them. Start listing them. Start being consistent with them. Work your way towards violent alignment and see how your life changes. See you tomorrow and keep pursuing, JC |

“The reason we’re alive is to express ourselves in the world. And creating art may be the most effective and beautiful method of doing so. Art goes beyond language, beyond lives. It’s a universal way to send messages between each other and through time.” - Rick Rubin Don't limit your definition of "art" to the traditional arts. There are many ways to express your Self to the world that will allow you to send messages to others the way Rubin suggests we're able to do. Being in a creative state...
Are you aligning your current Self with the future version of your Self you are pursuing? Do your habits match the habits of your future Self? Do your thoughts match the thoughts of your future Self? Do you feel as if you are already your future Self? To become the version of your Self you are pursuing, you need to align your current Self with it. You can’t be a leaner, fitter version of your Self if you aren’t eating and exercising the way your future Self does. You can’t accumulate the...
