I often write and talk about intuition. I’ve always had a connection to my intuition, even if I was too young to understand why I felt so confident about a decision I was making. Even as a high schooler (probably earlier, but I don’t really remember) I knew when something felt right, but I didn’t know that the internal feeling was a GPS from a Higher Power. Because it’s always been so natural for me to “follow my gut”, I have always assumed that it was easy for everyone to listen to their intuition. I recently dove into Human Design (I have a podcast episode about this coming soon) and learned that my Human Design, a Generator, is guided by intuition. Here’s a short summary of how intuition works for a Generator:
The Sacral Center: Generators have a defined Sacral center, their life-force engine, giving them sustainable energy for work and creation.
The Aura: Their enveloping aura constantly brings life's stimuli (people, opportunities) to them, prompting their Sacral to react.
The "Response": This isn't a thought; it's a physical sound or feeling in your gut—a guttural "uh-huh" (yes, go) or "uh-unh" (no, stop).
Waiting: The key is to wait for these external prompts and then listen to your inner gut response, rather than initiating from your mind. (Note: the waiting response is a new learning for me and something that I am intentionally work on–I look back and see all of the chasing I’ve done and how chasing rarely worked out for me).
A recent “aha” moment was that if intuition is a unique characteristic for Generators, that means other Human Design types don’t default to intuition and might even have a hard time connecting to theirs. And this is why I asked my friend Isik Tlabar to join me on the latest episode of Aligned Life. I met Isik in the Leading Edge community and immediately felt through her energy that I was supposed to work with her—I’ve done a session with her, and my wife, Ang, is going to start working with her next month. After experiencing her intuitive gifts, I knew I needed to have her on the podcast to help more people begin to understand intuition’s role in their lives. Check out the latest episode—here are some takeaways in case you’re wondering if you need to give it a watch/listen (you do!): - Intuition can guide you to where you need to be. - Listening to your intuition is essential for personal growth. - Intuition is often a whisper that can be drowned out by the mind. - You can train your intuition like a muscle. - Creating space in your life allows for intuitive insights to emerge. - Intuition can be the voice of God or a higher power. - Understanding the difference between intuition and projection is crucial. - Releasing attachment to outcomes can enhance intuitive clarity. - Intuition often provides the next step in a calm and relaxed manner. - Your unique gifts contribute to the collective good. I'm on a mission to help more people find and live their authentic life. Check out my Daily Notes where I write a short note each day about the connection of spirit, mind, body and money on the Pursuit of your authentic life.
“The greatest force is derived from the power of thought. The finer the element, the more powerful it is. The silent power of thought influences people even at a distance, because mind is one as well as many. The universe is a cobweb; minds are spiders.” - Swami Vivekananda Controlling your thoughts is not always easy–although it does become easier the more aware you are of what your mind is thinking. The ability to catch your thoughts and become the observer of them, as Michael Singer would...
“Listen to your heart. It knows all things, because it came from the Soul of the World, and it will one day return there.” -Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist It might come from a fictional book, but that doesn’t mean it’s not true. The lessons you are supposed to learn that will help you live your Authentic Life are all around you. See you tomorrow and keep pursuing, JC
Love has been coming up a lot in my life lately. Podcasts, books, videos, and even conversations with friends have all seemed to touch on the need for people to love their Selves more. I think if more people could love their Self and be happy and content (not stagnant) with who they are, then we would see a lot of the negativity in the world dissipate. The reason people don’t like or even hate others is not because of the other person, it’s because they don’t love their Selves. Because if you...
