I hope your summer is off to a great start. It's been busy for us, but this past week we got a short reprieve as Leo's soccer season ended last week and Roman's summer basketball is in between high school ball and the return of AAU. I used the extra time to finish writing my portion of a collaborative book from The AGC™ (the community for financial advisors I co-founded), which included not only my own chapter but also writing a narrative voice to connect the various sections of the book. This will be our second book as a community, published with Harriman House, and I can't wait to see the final product. Since the last Weekly Note I also had an incredibly cool experience with a client of mine who has been working on navigating out of the corporate world and starting his own business to be more aligned with his authentic Self--you can read about it in my latest post to the AlignedLife Substack called Manifesting Through Life and Financial Planning. Finally, this past week I dropped a new episode of The AlignedLife Podcast with a great conversation with Alex Hutchinson, the author of Endure and The Explorer's Gene. Spotify Ok, let's get to the rest of the Weekly Notes... 📝 this week's Daily Notes6.23.25 #902 when was the last time you reflected? 6.24.25 #903 be a doer 6.25.25 #904 nobody knows nothing 6.26.25 #905 "mind control" (a poem) 6.27.25 #906 tapping into your Explorer's Gene 6.28.25 #907 small victories 6.29.25 #908 your competitive advantage is you 📺 More From Rick RubinI can't get enough of Rick's interviews. The beginning of this conversation, where he explains how we all see the world from different perspectives, is great, and I love how he says he "wants to hear more" when someone has a different view. I feel like most people who respond with that's what they say are faking it, but when it comes from Rick, it feels authentic. Creativity has been on my mind a lot lately, and I feel like I'm getting ready for another creative run, so I'm not surprised this interview popped up in my feed. 📖 The Game We PlayThe Art Of Wandering"The gift I’ve received from contemplating death is that every moment is precious, and nothing is guaranteed. In my experience, many of us eventually come to this conclusion, but it often comes in the form of pain and immense heartbreak. Often we have to lose someone, or something unexpectedly, to cherish and appreciate the gift of life. To consider these questions allowed me to truly see my father in every moment. Some were more difficult than others, but the thing I would have regretted most was not showing him love and gratitude for everything he’s given me." My friend Michael has a great Substack called The Art of Wandering--I highly recommend checking it out. He's a fellow financial advisor who is focused on helping people find the confidence (and financial plan) to wander and find their authentic life (my word, not his); it's no surprise we get along really well. His latest post is an excellent tribute to his dad, whom he recently lost. Please take a moment to read it to honor his dad and to be reminded of what life is really about! 📝 The OmensThis week's Omens: It Played Out Exactly As We Set Our Intentions | A Voice Note QuestLove On Spiritual Awakenings The Clipse Letting God Sort Em Out Tyler, The Creator On Creativity I've Become A Huge Fan Of Jon Bellion If you want to get The Omens when they come up, you can sign up here. I'm on a mission to help more people find and live their authentic life. Check out my Daily Notes where I write a short note each day about the connection of spirit, mind, body and money on the Pursuit of your authentic life.
“Every moment is a new beginning.” - Elie Wiesel If there are things in your life that you are not aligned with your authentic Self, you have the ability to change them. As Wiesel shares with us, every moment is an opportunity to change the direction of your Pursuit. You can choose to use these new beginnings as an opportunity to move closer to your authentic life. Or, you can choose to use these new beginnings as an opportunity to keep heading down the same path you’re on and living a life...
“The making of art is not a competitive act. Our work is representative of the self.” -Rick Rubin I know Rick is writing about “art” but this is true of everything you do, and I could argue that everything you do has the opportunity to be a creative act. When you approach anything in life in a way that is true to your Self, you are doing something in a way that no one else can do–a representation of your Self. In this representation of your Self lies your strength, advantage, and most...
“The great victory, which appears so simple today, was the result of a series of small victories that went unnoticed.” - Paulo Coelho See you tomorrow and keep pursuing, JC
