Change happens when the discomfort of not changing becomes greater than the discomfort of the change. This is my favorite version of this quote—I’ve heard it with fear in place of discomfort. I’ve also heard it with pain in place of discomfort. Each of those is accurate and keeps the truth of the statement. I think I like discomfort because in my mind, discomfort arrives before pain and fear. And rather than wait until I’m in pain or fear is a prominent emotion, I’d rather listen to discomfort and let that be my guide. I know discomfort, particularly as a result of misalignment, will grow into pain and fear. I see no reason why I should wait for the inevitable change and endure the additional stress, pain, and fear that will come with delaying it. This morning, I began an uncomfortable change to better align my “body” with my spirit and mind. I’ll be writing a longer piece about this on the AlignedLife blog later today (hopefully). I thought I would share my version of the well-known quote, as it was not only on my mind this morning but also a part of my day. See you tomorrow and keep pursuing, JC |

We were a couple of hours early, but I was nervous that we wouldn’t make it through the line before getting Roman to his gate (more on our separate flights in a moment). The lines weaved without much organization. After getting his boarding pass, we...
“Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one’s courage.” - Anais Nin You’ll have to take my word for it, but your courage grows exponentially the closer you move to your Authentic Life, which is important because you will need courage to live it. Courage is the ability to act when you don’t know—when you’re stepping into the unknown. Living your Authentic Life will present numerous opportunities to step into the unknown, led by your intuition and your heart. Without courage, you will find...
