Discovering your Authentic Life and beginning to live it does not mean that the growth and impact you seek will happen overnight. In fact, the timeline for the outcome you desire will probably still be a long one. “The overnight success that took ten years to build” is usually the outcome of someone discovering their Authentic Life, listening to their heart, and sticking with their efforts, despite overnight success not coming. The ten-year overnight success is only possible for someone living their Authentic Life because no one would make it ten years, or however long it takes, if what they were doing was not what they were created to do. The purpose behind the work of your Authentic Life is what gives you the persistence to keep pursuing, even when it seems like no one notices. I was reminded of this as I was on my YouTube channel this morning, grabbing the link to the latest episode of AlignedLife to share. I quickly glanced at the views on some of my recent episodes, and while I wasn’t thrilled with the numbers, I also didn’t care because I know the episodes are great, the guests are amazing, and the few who have watched benefited from the conversations. I know the Authentic Life is my purpose, and AlignedLife is one of the ways I am supposed to share my message–I love hosting the podcast, and I would do it even if no one watched or listened, so I keep recording. I’ve said it before, and I’ll remind you again today, living your Authentic Life is not a perfect life in the sense that everything goes your way and happens when you want it to. The Authentic Life still requires hard work, is challenging, and will have ups and downs, but it is the only life that you can persist with and enjoy as you become a future overnight success that took ten years to build. See you tomorrow and keep pursuing, JC |

“From good people you’ll learn good, but if you mingle with the bad you’ll destroy such soul as you had.” —Musonius Rufus It seems we’re in a period when people are showing the world who they really are. Pay attention and heed Rufus’s warning. See you tomorrow and keep pursuing, JC
I’ve continued to think about putting on blinders and thought I’d share how I plan to use the additional time and energy: Read more Write more Meditate more Create more Rest more Connect more As I shared yesterday, a big part of my blinders will include dropping off social media. Like many, it has become my default time killer. Instead of scrolling to kill time, I’ll just use LinkedIn and Substack to distribute the content I create. I hope to replace the connections I’ve made on social media...
