how is your media diet shaping your experience?

For better or worse, we have access to more information (and misinformation) than ever. And it’s hard to escape it. Twenty-four-hour news channels. Social media. Podcasts. YouTube. Group texts.

I’m sure there was a time when more information would have been beneficial. Imagine waiting weeks to receive updates from a loved one overseas. Or, think about why we celebrate Juneteenth—it took two years for the news of the end of the Civil War, and with that, the freeing of all enslaved individuals. The lack of distributed information channels allowed the news to remain a secret from some for years—today, that’s unlikely to happen.

So, yes, we are better off with access to more information.

But many are seeing this access to information shape their perspective on life and, ultimately, their experience, and I fear it is making their experience one filled with fear, hate, and disappointment, moving them further from their Authentic Lives.

Back in 2024, I gave a talk about the importance of regaining control of your mind—this talk is even more relevant today than it was back then.

“I learned this, at least, by my experiment; that if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.” - Henry David Thoreau Keep pursuing your Authentic Life. “What you resist persists.” - Carl Jung You can resist your Authentic Life, but it will persist and continue to call out. Denying your Self the opportunity to live your Authentic Life is one way to guarantee regret later in life. And, as Bronnie Ware has noted, the resistance to your Authentic Life is one of the biggest regrets of the dying. See you tomorrow and keep pursuing, JC
