do what is right for you

“Don’t live your life to satisfy other people, do it for yourself and what’s right for you.”
- Oliver Tree

I have to admit I wasn’t aware, or at least wasn’t aware of whether I was, of Oliver Tree and his work until learning of his tragic passing this weekend.

After seeing so many people on my Instagram feed post pictures with him and talking so highly of him, I spent some time going down the Oliver Tree rabbit hole. He seemed like a genuine, authentic person—a great example of living an Authentic Life.

This quote I found is a perfect way to remember Oliver and to be inspired by what he stood for and who he was.

See you tomorrow and keep pursuing,

JC

A couple of weeks ago, a couple of my friends and I were discussing the subject of being self-made—a social media post sparked the conversation. Claiming to be self-made has become en vogue and is often made by an individual in an effort to portray a happier life than their reality; it’s usually represented by material possessions, titles, and other superficial metrics of “success”. Being self-made is one of those claims that those who actually are self-made never make because it was never...
